  Camp Evans is a former group campground located within Chenango Valley St
 ate Park. For many years\, it was operated in partnership with the Broome 
 Developmental Center and provided summer camping\, recreation\, and outdoo
 r experiences for people with disabilities. The camp has now been closed f
 or more than a decade\, and much of the property has become heavily overgr
 own. VAST is seeking volunteers (18+) to help complete an initial cleanup 
 of the Camp Evans property. Volunteers may assist with:Mowing approved are
 as Weed whacking and cutting back overgrown vegetationCollecting litter\, 
 broken glass\, and loose debrisHelping make pathways\, building exteriors\
 , and infrastructure more visible and accessible for future inspection Vol

 pYrNLKD7 Volunteers who have appropriate lawn equipment\, weed whackers\, 
 work gloves\, eye protection\, or other suitable safety equipment are enco
 uraged to indicate what they can bring. All work will be limited to approv
 ed outdoor cleanup activities. Volunteers will not enter unsafe structures
  or perform construction\, plumbing\, electrical\, demolition\, or restora
 tion work. These workdays are only the first step. The vegetation currentl
 y limits access to the camp’s buildings\, pathways\, plumbing systems\, 
 and other facilities. Clearing approved areas will make it easier for qual
 ified professionals and New York State representatives to view the propert
 y and evaluate its existing condition. VAST hopes to support the potential
  future restoration of Camp Evans as an inclusive public campground and co
 mmunity resource within Chenango Valley State Park. Any future planning or
